Maria del Pilar Rosell was born in San Gil, Colombia. Maria moved to New York when she was 9 years old, and has been involved in various multi-cultural events, programs, and communities throughout her life. Maria grew up dancing ballet, Flamenco and Colombian dances as a hobby. She attended Queens College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science and worked at the New York Hall of Science as a manager and programmer. She received the Citation of Honor award from the Office of the Borough President of Queens, which recognized her leadership and civic contributions to the sciences and arts in Queens, NY. Maria is a daughter, wife, entrepreneur, and mother of three daughters, and her furry assistant Teddy. She is a lifetime Girl Scout member. This is Maria’s first publication as an author. Maria’s mother Betty, inspired her to write these stories. In The Blue Morphos, she wishes to take the reader on a journey and experience life in the Andes surrounded by family, flora, fauna with a supernatural twist
