About the Author: Maria Pilar Rosell
María del Pilar Rosell was born in San Gil, Colombia. She moved to New York at the age of nine and has participated in various multicultural events, programs, and communities throughout her life. From a young age, she practiced ballet, flamenco, and Colombian dances as a hobby. She attended Queens College, where she earned a degree in political science, and worked at the New York Hall of Science as a manager and programmer. She received an Honorable Mention from the Office of the Queens Borough President in recognition of her leadership and civic contributions to the sciences and arts in Queens, New York.

María is a daughter, wife, entrepreneur, and mother to three daughters, as well as to her faithful companion, Teddy. She is a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts. This is María’s first publication as an author. Her mother, Betty, inspired her to write these stories. In *El Morpho Azul*, she aims to take the reader on a journey to experience life in the Andes—surrounded by family, flora, and fauna—with a touch of the supernatural.
